What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs,

blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and

format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

College decision day has come and gone, which means you were finally able to announce where you are going to college to friends and family! Now they only thing standing between you and your freshman year is high school graduation and summer.

High school graduation signifies the end of an era -- 12 long years of grade school to finally get to the point of college. College brings with it a level of independence and responsibility that grade school never had.

You’ll be on your own for most of it, which means you get to make your own decisions and forge your own path! As you spend this summer transitioning into the college mentality, there’s another fun aspect of college you get to partake in -- buying all your supplies!

Your college will send you a list of everything you need to buy. Summed up this looks something like -- bedding and bath linens, toiletries, laundry supplies, kitchen utensils and dinnerware, storage options, electronics, desk/school supplies, and any decor you want to display in your dorm room.

The focus of this post will be bedding, specifically blue bedding! Putting together your bed is one of the best parts of the move-in process. Your bed will be where you spend a lot of time -- yes, sleeping, but also studying, watching movies, talking to your roommate, and even making friends. Some would say your bed is the centerpiece of your room, so you really want to make sure you’re putting effort into selecting the items for your bed.

If you’re still reading this, chances are you daydream in blue just as much as we do! We’ll give you ideas on our favorite blue bedding from comforters and sheets to pillows and blankets to help you build the bed of your dreams!

Comforters and Sheets

We love this dark navy blue comforter that’s accented by white pillows and a gray chunky knit throw blanket!

The great thing about blue is it’s such an easy color to work with and style with different shades or even other colors. It can be as bright or as muted as your want, or light baby blue to dark navy! The color is so versatile and that’s why it shows up in college dorms across the country.

Here’s a tip -- your dorm bed is going to need a lot of tender love and care. The beds are not comfortable, they’ve been slept on for years by generations of college students. You’ll want to make your bed as comfy and cozy as possible to ensure you’re getting well rested sleep.

The best way to make your bed comfortable is to start with a mattress topper -- gel, memory foam, a combination of both, the choice is yours. This will make the bed more comfortable and supportive. Be sure to shop all bedding items in the size Twin XL -- this is like your basic twin bed, but longer to accommodate taller sleepers.

Muted blue comforter that is just the right pop of color and can easily be paired with other blues or pops of color.

We love this comforter for a few reasons. First, the texture instantly upgrades the bed and adds a level of uniqueness. Second, the color is a perfect muted blue tone that adds just the right pop we’re going for. It can easily be paired with other shades of blue for your perfect dorm room look.

We can’t stress the importance of perfection enough. Your bedroom at home might be a perfect representation of you, and your dorm room at college should be no different. It’s true that there is an adjustment period after you arrive.

You’re in a new area, without your parents, siblings, and maybe you decided to go to a school that none of your friends were attending. This leaves you going through the transition process by yourself -- and don’t worry because you’re not alone. Tons of college students feel the same way, but this is a good thing because you’re all looking to form new friendships

You might start by going to dinner with your roommate for the first week, then branch out to the members of your hallway, then your classmates. If you’re nervous to put yourself out there, don’t worry because many students feel the same way.

For the first few weeks, some students in your hallway will keep an open door. This means that anyone can come in and visit. All you have to do is go in and introduce yourself, the rest will happen naturally. You can also adopt this policy by having an open door of your own. Anyone can come in and if you have a few conversation starting decor pieces, this will help the conversations go easier.

But how does your bed tie into this adjustment process? Well it’s simple, if you don’t feel comfortable in your own room, then you won’t feel comfortable at the school. Your dorm room should be an escape, a place you can go to unwind and relax.

The more comfortable, cozy, and personalized your room is -- the better you will feel. It should be a safe space for you, and if your room reflects your personality, chances are you'll feel right at home.  That’s the ultimate goal of building your dorm room.

These white sheets with blue checkered design serve as the perfect offset to a solid blue comforter that will still keep the blue theme going!

Now when it comes to sheets, you’ll need to think about what your comforter looks like. Is it solid blue or partially blue? If it’s solid, then you might not want to get solid sheets. You’ll want something that can offset your blue comforter, but still keep the theme going. These sheets are perfect because the blue checkered pattern is just enough to make the blue comforter and sheet combination look perfect and like it was meant to go together.

Make sure you come into college with a few pairs of sheets. Sometimes getting to a laundry machine can be a challenge -- especially if you live in a huge building with only a few washing machines. You might have to put your laundry off to the next day when you can get an available machine.

Because of this, it’s a good idea to have an extra pair to put on your bed while you want to wash the dirty ones. Or spills do happen and a back-up pair will come in handy when you need an emergency change of sheets!

Pillows and Throws

Blue on blue on blue, if you’re looking to work with different shades of blue -- here is a perfect example of how to pair them together.

Throw blankets and accent pillows are where your room really starts to come together. The comforter and sheets are your bare basics, but throws and pillows are where your personality will come into play. They add extra layers of comfort and personalization to your room.

Throws are perfect for many purposes -- a napping buddy, late night study buddy, and more. They’re a perfect accompaniment for a chilly football game, a late night study session in the library, or a movie night with friends! Also, when you’ve had a long day of class, they’re great to pull up when you don’t want to get under the covers.

This baby blue microplush blanket is perfect for travelling and sleeping at night during the warmer months.

This baby blue microplush blanket provides the ultimate cozy feeling you need for relaxing or studying. The Twin XL length is perfect for being able to throw over your entire bed. It’s also extremely affordable too and comes in a wide range of other colors. But we love this light baby blue tone because it pairs perfectly against a dark navy comforter to make the perfect blue on blue look!

You might even want to have more than one throw blanket -- one to keep in your room and one for on the go, whether it’s going to relax in a room down the hall or travelling to the library. One can be your permanent napping buddy and you’ll be able to ensure it doesn’t get damaged or dirty.

Personality pillow coming in a beautiful, soft shade of blue that will match your other bedding.

This accent pillow is serving our blue bedding dreams while making a personality statement. Accent pillows are where your personality can shine -- through a motivational quote, funny joke, or simple phrase.

This pillow lets everyone see the eternal optimist in you and it’s puffiness will provide the ultimate support while napping.

Extra seating is always a struggle in college, but not with this floor pillow.

This blue designed pillow will provide extra seating in a moment's notice. The college struggle is always figuring out where people will sit when they visit your room -- and you might not want them sitting on your bed.

This floor pillow comes in two sizes and can be pulled out in a second as soon as someone walks in your room. This way you aren’t panicking looking for a place to put them. If you don’t want to use it for seating, you can use it as a round accent pillow. It’s overstuffed for ultimate comfort!

If you’re looking to accomplish blue bedding goals -- this will help give you an idea of how to pick colors, pair them together, and make your perfect blue oasis in your dorm room.
