What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs,

blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and

format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Before we get to the hilarious memes, we thought it would be helpful to review how to get ready for the first day of college classes. There’s nothing to worry about, but we know it’s easy to get nervous when you’re starting a new routine. Not to worry, you’ll soon find a groove and look back and wonder why you were so nervous!

Now that you’re already moved in and on campus, it’s time to prepare for your first day of college! By now you’ve probably met a few people in your hall, and hopefully you and your roommate have hit it off. If not, don’t worry, you guys have all year to get to know each other.

A few days before classes start, make sure you’re ready and go through this first day of college checklist

  • Know the locations of all your classes. Before your first day, it’s incredibly helpful to know all the locations of your classes. That way, there are no surprises and you decrease your chances of getting lost (although it’s okay if you still happen to get lost!). Take the path you would typically take out of your dorm room, and walk to each building. If you can, go in and find the exact classroom. Trust us, it’s going to be a little hectic on day one, so knowing where your classroom is will definitely come in handy. It’s hard getting used to a new environment, but you’ll have this routine down in no time.
  • Review any information. If your professors have shared any information beforehand, make sure you take the time to review it. Whether it’s just the syllabus or you’ve been assigned chapters to read, it’s always a good idea to come prepared. While most professors keep the first day of class pretty easy and straightforward, especially for incoming freshmen, you never want to be caught unprepared. Make a good impression on your instructors and make sure to review class material.

Pro tip: Getting in the habit of marking down deadlines and due dates on your calendar for each class is a great idea. It also helps to make it a point to review material before class, that way it’s fresh in your mind.

  • Get your school supplies ready. No matter what your major is, everyone is going to need a few basic school supplies. Come to the first day of class with notebooks, your computer, pens/pencils, and a case to carry everything. That way you’re sure to have everything organized and ready to go. Don’t be that student looking for a pen on the first day of class! Make sure you pack everything up the night before into your backpack, and you’ll be all set.

Pro tip: Don’t forget to bring along a water bottle and some snacks! This is especially true if you have a couple classes with not much break time in between. The last thing you want is to be super hungry or thirsty on your first day.

  • Pick out an outfit! When you know what you’re going to wear the night before, it can make your morning just a little less stressful. Consider wearing something relaxed that you really feel comfortable in. Many students choose to go with jeans or shorts along with a casual shirt or tank top on the first day. Don’t forget to choose your shoes wisely, as you’ll be doing a lot of walking or biking as you make your way to all your classes. Get to bed at a decent time, and try to get some sleep! Remember to set your alarm and give yourself a buffer in the morning, just in case you need a little extra time.

Pro tip: Consider showering the night before so you don’t get shut out of the showers! Everyone is going to be off to their first class and want a shower before they go. When you get one the night before, you can just wake up and go about the rest of your morning.

Einstein meme for the first day of college

Take it from Einstein, and remember to laugh and have fun on your first day of college! While you’re not going to be super familiar with your surroundings just yet, you can always fake it until you make it. And if you do happen to get lost, don’t be embarrassed to ask someone where your building is. They were freshmen on their first day of college too once, and completely understand what it’s like.

While you’re at it, remember to smile and try to say hi to your classmates. While yes, it feels incredibly awkward to do this with strangers, these people will be in your class with you all semester. And they’re feeling exactly the same way you are! You may even find that just by making small talk you’ve found a study buddy and even a friend on the first day of school. How about that!

No one said college was going to be easy, but don’t let your first assignments intimidate you! You can always speak to the professor or reach out to classmates to create a study group and get through it together. Image courtesy of ImgFlip.

The first day of college typically includes getting to know your professor and some of your classmates. They’ll go over the syllabus and let you know what is expected of you throughout the semester. Some professors may start a lesson on the first day, and some may not. You may even find some that give homework. But don’t worry, you can do this.

A major part of college is learning to step out of your comfort zone, and that means being expected to handle heavier workloads. Once you get into the flow of the semester, it will be much easier to designate time for studying, and you’ll learn the best ways that work for you to prepare for class.

While it may seem a little scary the night before your first day of college, we guarantee that after it’s over, you’ll realize everything really was okay. Sometimes it’s just a fear of the unknown that makes us nervous to try new things and meet new people. And that’s completely normal to feel that way! But think of how great you’ll feel after you come home to your dorm room after your first day, knowing you accomplished all that you did.

This is an exciting chapter of your life, so make sure you’re ready to take full advantage of it.

One of the best parts about college? Making new friendships that could last a lifetime! Image courtesy of ZDNet.

Being new at school is always intimidating. And if this is your first time starting the school year without the comfort of people you know (which is most freshmen!) then it can be a little nerve wracking. That’s why it’s so important you make the extra effort to talk to people, especially ones in your dorm living area and in your classes. However if you see someone friendly in the dining hall and strike up a conversation with them, that works too!

Joining activities, sports, and clubs are also a great way to meet new people. Try not to limit your circle to just your roommate and you’ll be surprised how happy people are to find a new friend somewhere on campus!

While it’s unlikely that as a freshman you’re going to get a whole load of homework on your first day of college, don’t be surprised if some professors start their lessons after reviewing the syllabus. After all, this is their passion, and they want to teach you all about it! It’s also important to keep in mind that you’re paying for each of these courses, so you definitely want to get your money’s worth.

Starting out with lectures on the first day of class is a good way to get your feet wet and learn what each professor will expect of you this semester. This is all a part of the college experience, and it helps to remember that you can totally handle this. Buckle up because it’s going to be a great ride!

On the first day of class, you’ll see lots of students in nice outfits who look really well put together. The running joke is that everyday afterwards, they’ll be in joggers, sweats, and pajama pants. While there’s nothing wrong with going that route, you may want to have a few days a week where you put a little extra effort into your appearance. After all, clothes can make you feel confident and ready to take on the world, and that’s exactly the attitude you’ll need while starting off at college.

first day of college meme about icebreakers
There will always be those professors that want their classes to do this! Image courtesy of Reddit

Ah yes, first day of college icebreakers. Chances are you’ve already been warned about this. While it may be a little uncomfortable, professors do this to get to know their students a little better—and students get to learn a little more about their classmates as well! If you can, think of a few things you might want to say ahead of time. Some of the most common icebreakers include:

  • Why did you choose this school?
  • What are three quick facts about yourself?
  • Where are you from?
  • What’s your favorite movie?
  • Who is your role model?
  • What is your favorite book?

Although everything may seem to move a little fast on your first day, it’s okay if you end up feeling a little overwhelmed. This is entirely normal and don’t worry, the feeling will pass! Making sure you show up to each class and take notes is a great way to feel a little less confused and ensure you’re on the right track for succeeding. Having someone you can swap notes with or study with in your class can definitely help with this!
