The Vogue Room Foundation is excited to partner with the OCM, the nationwide leader in university fundraising programs. OCM has been serving students for over 40 years, helping to provide a simple and affordable solution to make college move-in easy. OCM and The Vogue Room Foundation have teamed up to provide students from North Carolina dorm room essentials.

The foundation was created in 2018 by Ebony Staten, an interior stylist in Charlotte NC. The Vogue Room Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping first-generation, minority college students with their transition to college life.

This includes providing them a functional and well-designed space to promote productivity and innovative thinking. We believe that investing in a quality space will give them the jump start they need to maximize their education.

Ebony was inspired when seeing a post by Michelle Obama on Instagram. It was a picture of her at Princeton in the early 1980s and she explained how being a first-generation college student is scary, but her advice to students was to be brave and stick with it!

This post hit home to Ms. Staten. Being that she is a first-generation college graduate herself, earning her Bachelor's degree in information systems from North Carolina Central University. The Instagram post gave her the idea and motivation to do what she does best to help make college dreams a reality.

The Vogue Room Foundation offers a wide range of awards to minority first-generation college students in North Carolina. These awards can range from dorm room essential packages to the ultimate prize which is a dorm room makeover.

First generation college students submit their applications via online. Thanks to OCM --seven students received a 16 piece, college dreamer pack that contained essentials such as, bedding, towels, and a mattress pad.
OCM offers a wide variety of college value paks and bedding bundles to make preparing for the move to campus easier and less stress for students everywhere.
