Living in the dorm can present some setbacks, including snoring roommates; close living quarters; and the hassles that accompany shared bathrooms.

Using the same showers as others presents a new set of necessities, including bathroom caddies, conservative bathrobes and, of course, shower sandals. Don’t make the mistake of thinking you can skip out on the third item; the warm and moist environment is a breeding ground for bacteria, and the communal shower can be an ideal place for sharing fungal infections such as athlete’s foot. Basic Flip Flops
If you find yourself in a pinch and in immediate need of sandals, turn to your cheapest pair of flip-flops. The upside is that they’re sold in a rainbow of different colors, and can run as cheap as $2.00. If you plan on traveling this route, buy more than one pair in case the lower-quality construction doesn’t hold up to repeatedly getting wet.

Anti-Slip Drainage Hole Sandal
These sandals are designed specifically for communal showers and, as a result, feature a sure grip bottom to prevent slipping. The drainage holes throughout the shoe prevent the discomfort that comes from walking around in wet sandals by helping to keep your feet from sliding around in the shoe. Though they are not as cheap as the above options, this style of shower sandal is affordable nonetheless.

Antimicrobial Shower Sandal
Take your dorm showering experience to the next level with this style of shower flip-flops. Rather than going with the cheapest option that you could potentially destroy in a very short amount of time, these flip-flops have a few special features that make them worth the higher asking price. The bottoms of these shoes are thicker and come with essential treads that provide the essential non-slip quality. These sandals also contain drainage holes that allow water to drain from the shoe so that your feet remain secure. As an added bonus, some antimicrobial shower sandals are event scented!

Rubber Traction Shower Sandals
These sandals provide the comfort and traction of an athletic sandal. The rubber soles provide that essential non-slip feature that makes your shower experience less treacherous. Unlike some of the other options, rubber traction shoes are more practical to wear in a variety of different settings outside the bathroom, including the great outdoors.Shower sandals in the dorm are almost as equally essential as your bedding and toothbrush. Not only do you want to avoid those nasty fungal infections, but you also want to protect yourself from falling on your face in the shower. Pick up a pair prior to stepping into the bathroom to bathe in order to maintain excellent health.Image 1
