Here, they’ve chosen to add metallic silver to their decor sparingly, but you can choose to add as much or as little as you’d like to. They’ve kept a grey and white palette to help the silver accents to blend in seamlessly, mostly incorporating the actual shiny pop into accent items such as their decorative pillows or the holographic stars they’ve hung up on the wall. If you look closely, you can see that the headboard they’ve placed behind their pillows also has a slight silver sheen to it.

Fluff It Up

Faux fur is the epitome of coziness and comfort. Not only does it add an extra layer of warmth to whatever material it’s been sewn onto, but it also adds some texture - both physically and visually - to the dorm room look you’ve created. Here, they’ve kept the base of their bedding fairly simple by using some basic cotton for their sheets and comforter, but they’ve added in lots of faux fur for some extra texture in the form of their pillows and throw blanket. Some of their fuzzy pillows are decorative, but they’ve also found a faux fur sham to cover their standard pillow, which adds even more texture to the bedding. On the floor, they’ve added an ottoman covered in fur, as well as a furry rug to round out the look.

Daydream in White

Everything Was Blue

Here, they’ve stuck to a fairly light blue for their bedding, keeping standard white sheets underneath some a blue and white striped comforter with matching pillows. They’ve added some darker sapphire blue with one of their accent pillows, and all along the wall they’ve hung up some decor that ties in other shades of blue. The selection of polaroids they’ve hung up to the right side of the bed reflect a blue gradient while the poster hanging directly behind the bed mostly sticks to two different shades of blue.

We’re not sure that boho is ever going to go out of style! It’s been pretty trendy for a few years now, and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be slowing down anytime soon. If you’ve thought about bringing a boho look to your dorm room this fall but haven’t been quite sure how you can bring it to life, look no further! Boho is all about combining your personal style with materials that are chic and organic.

Here, they’ve stuck to a fairly neutral color palette, which you may or may not choose to ascribe to, but they’ve made it boho by incorporating in lots of patterns and textures. While the sheets to their bedding are a fairly simple beige cotton, they’ve topped their bedding with a thickly knit handmade blanket and accent pillows with varying textures and patterns. You can see that some have bold geometric patterns while others stick to simple stripes, and some are made of a fairly basic canvas material while others are super fluffy.

Get Back to the Basics
