Fall
This time of the year is tricky when it comes to appropriate bedding layers. While some nights might be warmer than others, it is always better to be safe than sorry. We suggest using a cotton sheet, with a cable cotton throw on top. It is just enough layers to keep you cool and comfortable while you snooze.

Winter
Anyone would agree that trying to sleep in a freezing cold room is torture. Avoid the mid-night shivers, and make sure your bed has the proper amount of layers to provide ample warmth. First make sure you have thick sheet, preferably a fleece fabric or high thread count cotton. On top of the sheet, add a micro fleece blanket—they’re so comfy, you’ll forget its 20 degrees outside. Finish off the layers with a heavy comforter. Remember, this warmer-upper is the outer most layer, so make sure the color or pattern matches your room’s theme. At OCM, our Bedding Value Paks that have everything you need, from sheets and blankets, to comforters, and even a quilted mattress pads. The ultimate starter pack to make sure your college career gets off on the right foot!

Summer
Once summertime rolls around, the last thing you want is to feel like you are sleeping in an oven. Sure, summertime means less layers, but you still want to be slightly covered up when air conditioning starts to flow. Much like fall’s set up, we suggest using a light sheet with a lighter throw blanket on top. This way you can pull back the throw blanket on warmer nights that don’t require duel blankets, and still keep warm with your sheet.

Storage
Your probably thinking: what am I going to do with the excess comforters and blankets once they are not needed anymore? With limited storage space in dorm rooms, this is when under the bed storage containers come in handy! Make sure you choose a storage container that has a lid to make sure dust and water don’t get in.
